Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Political Science at the University of Minnesota. I study international security and civil-military relations, with a specific focus on the domestic politics of great power politics and the politics of military service. I have methodological interests in automated text analysis, content analysis, and survey design.  My dissertation examines the politics of international decline and "declinism."

My work has been supported by the Tobin Project, as well as the University of Minnesota's Graduate Research Partnership Program.

I received my B.A. in political science from Winthrop University and in 2014 I completed an M.A. in political science from Virginia Tech

When I'm not busy being a grad student, I love spending time in the Twin Cities with my wife Katie and my coonhound/mutt Beau.
